This past sunday I got up early and made my way over to Exchange Place in Jersey City, then heading in the PATH train for some escalator shots and then finally over to hoboken! It was great to spend some time getting to know Bryant and Derek as well as take some wonderful engagement photos! I have to say, I have never laughed so much during a photo session as I did with them! They are just so much fun to be around! I also love the story as to how they met, it is giving me goosebumps all over again! I am so honored that I will get to spend their wedding day this upcoming April with them and getting to capture their memories on camera! AND… to top it all off, they are getting married at my FAVORITE PLACE EVERY! the loews theater is Jersey City. gorgeous, love it, need it, want it… cant wait to shoot in it!! Well, here are some photos from Byrant and Derek! ENJOY!
some fun DIY stuff September 22, 2008
I have doing some DIY things for the wedding… programs, menus etc… I figured I would take a moment to show off the jpeg files for the programs and menus and a explain a bit how i did them… which is SOOOO easy!
first the menus. I found this fun border in a book McMorgie had ~ but you can also buy a book like this at Pearl paint, michaels, or Lee’s Art Shop (in nyc). All of these books come with CD’s that you can then upload the border you want from the disk. I then made a 8.5×11 image in photoshop, and divided the page into 4 and dragged the border onto the blank image… I then used the font tool and wrote out my menu. Once I was done with the first of the 4 sections, I “locked” everything together (border and type) and copies and pasted it 3 other times to fill up the entire 8.5×11 page. I think bought some really nice metalic (more pearl-y looking) paper from this great website called paper-papers.com but also a lot of the girls here in NYC like paper presentation ~ which is great because you can walk in and see everything for yourself. So yes, I printed the image of 4 menu’s up on the paper… then took a paper cutter and cut them into 4! easy!
here is the jpeg file.
For the program I did almost the same thing… took an 8.5×11 image size… dragged in my NYC skyline I designed and typed in all the details I wanted to talk about for the ceremony program. However I did just 2 on a page rather then 4… I really wanted the long skinny look for the programs… I am not in to process of printing them all.. but as soon as they are done I will post real photos of the finished product! Hope this was inspiring and/or helpful!
Programs for you.
Baby Gabriel September 18, 2008
So the lovely “Mayflowerbride” from theknot NYC board. Recommended my to her wonderful sister Sharon to take some photos of her family.. husband Jason and the most adorable baby Gabriel!! I met up with them this past sunday at their apt and went down to the river for some outdoor photos… we then decided to head back to their place and take a few more of Gabriel in his room ~ which he loves! I have to say, he was one of the happiest babies I have met in a long time and Sharon and Jason were great to work with and spend the morning with! Thank you for letting me take these wonderful photos and enjoy them! Here are a few teasers for you all!
2nd hair trial! September 16, 2008
I had my 2nd hair trial today with the wonderful, beautiful talented Stacey Lyn Weinstein, owner of Once Upon A Bride her website is ouab.com She also happens to be a friend of mine whom I adore! 🙂 So check out her work and also look below at some of my hair photos… SO HAPPY with the way it came out… exactly what I wanted. She plans to have some more volume at the crown of my head and also we will probably leave my natural CURLY curly hair in the front. So excited… Also, loving my etsy handmade flower for my hair! I dont have any photos with the veil on since it needs to be flattened a bit (it is a birdcage) Enjoy the pictures!
hair September 12, 2008
So I have been struggling with how I want to wear my hair for the wedding… I found a bunch of looks online and decided to make a “hair page” with all the (very similar) looks I liked. If you like one, let me know which ~ it might help to narrow it down a bit!
MY BRIDAL SHOWER!! September 8, 2008
This weekend was my bridal shower! 🙂 It took place down the shore in Spring Lake and my mom’s wonderful amazing friend Lucia was the most amazing hostess you could imagine. she opened her beautiful home up to all my family and friends for an afternoon of amazing food and fun. It was perfect! I got the chance to spend some time with all the wonderful women that helped to shape my life into what it is. My mom and I have an amazing suport of such outragously interesting, smart, fun, talented friends and family and it is just such an honor that they took the time to spend the day with us! Morgan’s mom and her dear friend Becky also flew in from Ohio for the shower and have been spending time with us here in NYC. We went shopping for her outfit for the wedding ~ she is going to look great! I was really really happy that they came to the shower!! Here are just a few of the photos highlighting the day. We ate some lunch, I opened the gifts and tina, an old family friend wrote a song and performed it for me as well! So fun! here you go… Stacey at her finest! 🙂
